Client: Heritage Stoneworks.

Location/Site: Art Gallery of NSW, Sydney NSW.

Project: Remove biological growth and soiling built up over decades as part of a renovation and renewal process ready for 2023.

Scope of Works: Let’s Clean was required to clean much of the southeastern facade of the Art Gallery while working around a busy Kane construction worksite. As is always important with heritage buildings, we had to take care not to damage the stone, which faces a high amount of car traffic on the nearby exit from the Sydney Harbour Tunnel.

Method: Hot water and steam at low pressure to remove the carbon deposits, and achitect-specified biocide to impede the return of biological growth on the surface for some time to come.

Outcome: A faithful restoration of the surface to its bright and buttery appearance.
